A new "Lead" Neurologist was called onto Allan's case today. His temperatures were up as high as "over 103" last night. His brain pressures are back up over 20 in spite of that shot in the dark procedure. He has been cultured in every place they can culture a person...yet nothing is showing any signs of any type of bug...
There is a high suspicion that the temperature rise is due to the primal brain functions not working right. The Neuro will likely confirm that.
Dad's working his butt off, with no progress in any area.
We sit down tonight again at 5pm.
I will likely update very late this evening, but as quickly as I can. I probably won't leave the hospital til 9 or 10 as usual and must kiss each of my babies before I can sit down and form words.
The rain pouring down outside right now seems strangely appropriate.
Still standing~

ReplyDeleteRandi - i have been following your blog every day, not knowing your Dad personally but connected as we are Crossroad riders and we have friends within the group that know him well - I now know your Dad through you and I am amazed and very touched as you speak for him with such strength and protection.
ReplyDeleteI am very glad you have come to terms with people trying to get to Al's bedside - a frustration to your stressful day but the testament of how he has touched lives and the grief expressed.

I cannot pretend to comprehend the journey that is being traveled by Allan, Randi, his family, all those close to him and the thousands of people Allan has touched in this life. Randi, the gift you give with these updates is beyond priceless. The love that is shared is amazing. I pray for God's wisdom and guidance through all of this experience and ask that His Love surrounds and comforts each heart that is hurting.
ReplyDeleteWe love You Allan. Peace.
